Ok so before we start raiding, we need a system to distribute loot and track attendance: DKP.

We'll start by talking about our old system from when we played WoW before, and go from there. Feel free to comment about any parts of it - we can change anything we like.

Earning Points

Anytime someone in your group loots an item, you get your share of that item's cost in points. For example, if an item that costs 20 points is looted in a 10-man group, each member of that group would get 2 points. Item costs are agreed upon beforehand and fixed.

Spending Points

When an item drops that you'd like to have, check your dkp from before the run started. If you have positive points, /roll (dkp), where the number (dkp) is how many points you had at the beginning of the run. The higher your dkp, the greater your chance to win the item. If the people that want the item are all in the negative, the item goes to whoever is closest to 0 dkp.

Item Costs

70 - 2H Weapon
50 - 1H Weapon
45 - Helm, Chest, Legs
35 -Shoulders, Gloves, Belt, Boots, Trinket
25 - Back, Wrist, Neck, Finger, Off-Hand
15 - Relic, Ranged

Additional Rules

Items for off-spec sets are always given less priority than main-spec sets, regardless of dkp. That said, off-spec items cost and reward no dkp.

We can also add a few more rules here to ensure that everyone gets a fair distribution.

All sounds fine to me, from what I can tell from the general set up of the guild, the only real people who'll be fighting for gear for the most part are gonna be clothies, XD

Updated to make item costs more closely align with item stats.

Please comment on this system.

i think one handed weps and off-hands should be 35 points to make it more equal with ppl that might use a 2 hander.

The problem with that is that 1H Weapons are MUCH better than the other 25 point options.

If given a choice between a new MH and a ring, which would you buy?

The main reason that 1H+OH is 5 points more than 2H is because it requires two drops instead of just one. This is how we did it before. The other reason is that 1H+OH is slightly better than 2H in terms of stats for classes that can use both equally.

If people want to equalize it, and I can understand that, the best option would be to increase the price of 2H Weapons from 70 to 75.

I'm prepared to run a DKP deficit the size of the US federal deficit.

I had a though in regards to DKP in regards to side-grades, if this situation arises, where someone has a 359 item and another 359 item drops which is a side-grade for them, it might make sense to have the option of a side-grade, which gives you no priority over other players who would be willing to spend DKP but would be helpful for the raid as a whole in the sense that gear wouldnt get sharded needlessly.

To be eligible for a side-grade:
1. You'd have to show your previous item -- which must be equal i-lvl to the item you're about to loot, AND HAVE THE SAME PRIMARY STAT (str, int, agi)
2. Noone is willing to roll DKP on the item
3. If two or more people qualify for the side-grade, its a simple /roll 100 to decide the matter.

Let me know if you guys think this is feasible -- the one outstanding issue with this is determining where this would sit in terms of priority for off-specs (does someone's offspec trump your sidegrade? or the other way around? or are they even?)

I would probably propose that:

DKP > Offspec > sidegrade > shard

Discuss?
